He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Preece and Lois Preece; his sisters, Francis Biddy (Tootie), Carol Cantrell, Mary Evers and Doris Gephart; his daughters, Lois Catherine and Tammy Preece; and his son-in-law Billy Walker.
He is survived by: his wife Maggie E. Preece; his daughters, Debbie Walker (Zack Matthews) of Troy, Helen (Wilburn Walker) of Hutto, Rosey (Sam Vineyard) of Brady and Sandra (Tim Ritch) of Cameron; and his brothers, Sherman Preece and Donnie Preece (Charlotte). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
