He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Carraway and Evelyn Carraway; his son Vernon G. Carraway, Jr.; and his siblings, Leonard, Melvin, Edward, Douglas, Sarah, Mack, Freeman, Robert and Henry.
He is survived by: his children, Vernon Glen Carter, Arlethea Denise Campbell, Cynthia Cameron (Desi), Joycelyn (Lawrence), Jacko, Patrick Carraway (Zarieka), Eric Carraway (Arneta), Chadwick G. Carraway and Carmen Anderson. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirteen, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other loving family and friends.
