He is survived by: his father James "Preacher" Hammons of Belott; and his siblings, Butch Hammons (Ruth) of Mississippi, Juanette Wallace (Vern) of Houston, Charlotte Miller (Rod) of Crockett and Meda Hammons-Ryan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
