He was predeceased by : his parents, Josefina Wright (Navarette) and Nicanor Wright; his son Israel Jr.; and his siblings, Mary Wright, Miguel Wright, David Wright and Rodolfo Wright.

He is survived by : his wife Debra of Florence; his son Jacob (Claudia) of Eagle Pass; his grandchildren, Jacob Israel Wright Jr. of Houston and Jacqueline V. Wright of College Station; and his siblings, Nicanor Wright of Alpine, Abel Wright of Odessa and Naomi Wright of San Antonio.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Florence Baptist Church (106 College Ave, Florence, TX 76527). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Angels Cemetery Old Cemetery.
