He was predeceased by: his parents, Alca Schoppe and RJ Schoppe; and his brother Joe. He is survived by: his wife Karen of Somerville; his daughter Christi; his son-in-law Charles Chambers of Kingsport, TN; his daughter Stephanie; his son-in-law JD Green of Danbury; his children, Meredith Serna of Memphis, TN, Bailey Gibson of Memphis, TN and Kitty Gibson; his brother Ray; and his sister-in-law Marian Schoppe of College Station. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Strickland Funeral Home (530 TX-36, Caldwell, TX 77836). A rosary was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (8610 FM2774, Somerville, TX 77879). A burial was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery (8610 FM2774, Somerville, TX 77879).
