He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Lee Mize, Sr. and Viola Bagwell Mize; and his siblings, Roger Mize, Janet Mize Sanders and Evelyn Mize Elliott.

He is survived by: his wife Carole Jean Mize; his children, Jeffery Mize (Jerri), Randall Mize (Christina) and Christina Holt (Allan); his siblings, Milton Mize (Wanda), Keith Mize (Lisa), Sam Mize (Patti), Anthony Mize (Kathy), David Mize (Theresa), Nell Smith (J. R.), Wilma Mize and Brenda Heath; and his grandchildren, Tyler Mize, Whitney Jones (Ken), Jordan Mize, Caden Mize, Joshua Mize, Meghann Holt and Lindsay Holt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
