James Braxton Samples Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Braxton Samples of Cactus, Texas, who passed away on April 26, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, James is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that James' spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Samples and Essie Samples. He is survived by: his wife Maria; and his children, Gerardo Rivera (Elena) of Kansas, Ana Concha (Francisco) of Etter, TX, Leslie Castaneda of Dumas, TX and Cheri Bonnie Samples of New Mexico. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A prayer will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Morrison Memorial Chapel (1015 S Dumas Ave, Dumas, TX 79029). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bible Baptist Church of Sunray (200 Ave P, Sunray, TX 79084).
