She was predeceased by: her parents, John Taplin and Carrie Taplin; her husband Roy Mathis Sr.; her children, Ernest Mathis Sr., Ronald Mathis and Gloria Mathis; her siblings, Henry Mitchell, LeeBoy Taplin (Bose), Lolly Mae Mathis, Catharine Williams, Gertrude Mathis and Annie Mae Taplin; her grandchildren, Antonio Mathis, Roderick Mathis and Sharona Parker; and her children-in-law, Sammy Hudgen Sr., Douglas Wilson, Denice Mathis and Stephanie Mathis.
She is survived by: her children, Dorothy Esters (Bobby) of Dime Box, Ernestine Mays (Eddie) of Bellville, Roy Jr. Mathis (Nicole) of Franklin, Marvin Mathis of Burton, Fannie Parker (Jay) of Burton, Lyndon Mathis (Angela) of Temple, Tammie Mathis of Burton and Sandra Mathis of Somerville; her siblings, Caroline Mathis of Burton, Florence Hudgen (Sylvester Sr.) of Burton and Floyd Taplin Sr. of Burton; and her daughter-in-law Marie Mathis of Huntsville. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
