He was predeceased by: his son Michael Lynn Carey; his sister Von Dean Muncrief; his brothers-in-law, Bill Muncrief, Pat Maynard, Don Colley and Kelly Mayo; and his nephews, Chris Maynard, John Mayo and Bill Austin Mayo.

He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn Garcia (Richard) and Sonya Terry (Johnny); his daughter-in-law Jeannie Carey; his grandchildren, Richard Robert Garcia, Stacie Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Johnny Evan Terry, Hunter Terry, Tyler Carey and Jacob Carey; his great grandchildren, Madison Garcia, Wyatt Garcia and Gracie Garcia; and his sisters, Betty Maynard, Margaret Colley and Nancy Mayo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boys Scouts of America in honor of Lyndal's lifelong dedication to family and community.
