He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Capps and Albina Capps (Horky); his daughter Lara Latham; and his siblings, Lisa Capps and Michael Capps.

He is survived by: his wife Lynn Capps; his daughter Lucy Raleigh (Shawn); his son-in-law Michael Latham; his grandchildren, Jaxson, Brantley Raleigh and Matthew Latham; and his siblings, Johnny Capps (Pam), Shirley Dixson (Steve), Joan Chesshire and Theresa Wright (Jimmy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF), which provides critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans.
