He was predeceased by: his parents, Birdie Lee Gardner and Elmer Gardner; his siblings, Charlene Pendergrass, Leroy, Wayne, Rodney and Alvin Gardner; and his siblings-in-law, Claudine Gardner and Monroe Pendergrass.
He is survived by: his wife Laura Laverne Gardner of Burleson; his children, John (Pam) of Lubbock, TX and Deanna (David Weaver) of Milford, TX.; his grandchildren, Kerri, Philip Pike of Lubbock, TX, John, Rachelle Gardner of El Progresso, Honduras, Bonnie, Daniel James of Pasadena, CA, Aaron and Sara Murray of Huntsville, TX.; his great grandchildren, Isabelle, Jasper, Kaitlyn Pike, Haylee, Jadyn, Kenzi, Joshua Gardner and Emily Gatlin; his brother Vernie H. Gardner (Rosie) of Bedford, TX; and his sisters-in-law, Ozzie Gardner and Charlene Gardner. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
