He was predeceased by: his wife Juanita Wester; and his daughter Ashley McCollum. He is survived by: his children, Mike (Lisa, Gary), Elizabeth (Luis, Wayne) and Karla; his grandchildren, Allison, Morgan, Mackinzie, Travis, Melisha, Lacy, Scott, Brandon, Chris, Shawn and Austin; and his brother Ronnie. He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
