He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Cowan and Bessie Cowan; and his siblings, James Cowan, Charlie Cowan Jr., Sue Cowan, Rebecca M. Cowan, Cecil W. Cowan and John A. Cowan.
He is survived by: his sisters, Viola Williams of Stephenville, Opal Russell of Stephenville and Charlene Pruitt of Mineral Wells. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
