He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Starook and Violet Starook (Horton Shaffer); his wife Miriam; his sons, Dale Kenneth Starook, Jr., Phillip Ashley Starook, Greg Allen Starook and Douglas Steven Starook; his grandchildren, Tracy Lynne Starook and Douglas Steven Starook, Jr.; and his great great grandchild Christian Douglas Bare, Jr..
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jonathan Douglas Bare, Julie Diane Cleaver, Meghan Leigh Windsor, Tryn Daley O'Neal, Ashley Noelle Sylvester and Amber Nichole Starook; and also, Ellen Denise Bare and Margaret Starook O'Neal. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
