He was predeceased by: his parents, James Watson "Watt" Tate and Julia Ida Darter Tate; his wife Donna Tate; his siblings, Floyd, Orville, Alvin, Winfred, Kenneth, Lona, Della V and Oreta; his children, Barbara Jean Tate and Timothy Chris Tate; and his great grandchild Brody Allen Tate.
He is survived by: his sons, Gerald Dwayne Tate (Sonja), Mark Allen Tate (Melissa), James Avery Tate (Karla) and Douglas Wayne Tate; and his grandchildren, Holly Johnson (Kurt), Katie McCullock (Josh), Brittany Tate (Philip Craig), Justin Tate (Emily), Alexis Barbour (Jack), Avery Fluitt (Shayde) and Addison Tate. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom Hospice in North Richland Hills, Texas.
