He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie Belle and Oscar Loftin; his son Alph Glen Loftin, Jr.; and his siblings, Floyd Loftin, Jay Loftin, Mable Ruth Chamblee and Lillene Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Nell Loftin; his children, Chris Makin of Stowell, Mackie Zeringue of Cleveland, Patricia Christopher (Brent) of Lumberton and Tuffy Loftin (Anette) of Centerville; his grandchildren, Scott Wilder (Annie) of Winnie, Troy Zeringue (Rachael) of Dekalb, Natalie Barta (Matt) of Pearland, Meeghan Keng (Josh) of Friendswood, Dustin Christopher (Heather) of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Nicholas Christopher (Becca) of New London, Wisconsin, Clayton Loftin (Hailey) of Leona and Bay Ruffin (Mark) of Leona; and his siblings, Judson Loftin (Sarah) of Buna, T. J. Loftin (Cheryle) of Buffalo, Stella Bell (Doug) of Colmesneil and Mamie Joyce Joiner of Hull.
