He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Dickey, Sr. and Jaunell Nelson; and his siblings, Gloria Dickey and Elvin Dickey. He is survived by: his significant other Deborah Miller; his brothers, Samuel Dickey, Jr. (Brenda) of Kentucky, Cecil Dickey of Wichita Falls and Darrel Dickey of Henrietta, Texas; his aunt Sue (Mackey Thomas); his uncle Melvin (Dorthy Nelson); his daughter-in-law Kacie Calhoun; his stepson Brad Russell; his grandsons, Jason and Cade Russell; and his great grandchild Kanden Russell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Burkburnett Community Center (735 Davy Dr, Burkburnett, TX 76354).
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in James's memory to Hospice of Wichita Falls, whose compassionate care and dedication brought comfort to James and his family in his final days.
