He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie James and Goldie James (Sprouse); and his sister Meada Jewell Elkins. He is survived by: his children, Jessie L. James (Kelley) of Ft Worth, TX and Pamela L. Miller (Stuart) of Burkburnett, TX; his grandsons, Declan James, Jenson James, John D. Frye III (Katie) of Kemp, TX and Jeremy D. Frye (Kelso) of Iowa Park, TX; his great grandchildren, Harlie, Keelan Frye and Paige Frye of Burleson, TX; and his nephews, Mike Elkins (LouAnn) of Elgin, OK, Tony Elkins (Linda), Geronimo and Host.
