He was predeceased by: his wife Audrey Whitmire; his sons, Delton Whitmire, Sr. and Michael Lynn Whitmire; and his siblings, Jackie Moss, Pete Whitmire, Ethel Moss and Estelle Moss.
He is survived by: his son Lonnie Earl Whitmire (Belinda); his siblings, Chesley Burnice "Little Bud" Whitmire (Estelle) and Onita Holloway of Buna; and his grandchildren, Pam Whitmire, Teri Wolfe, Wendy Graham, Gena Urbank, Shane Whitmire, Del Whitmire, Jr., Jessica Blake, Samantha Harris and Jana Hatton. He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren.
