He was predeceased by: his parent Archie Johnson; his siblings, Raymond Barnett, Allen J. Barnett and Dollie Barnett Chubbuck; and his sister-in-law Pearl Ham Barnett.
He is survived by: his wife Vera Barnett of Buffalo, Texas; his daughter Reda Robinson (Robbie) of Buffalo, Texas; his granddaughters, Rebecca Romero (Brennan) of Plaquemine and Rachel Robinson (Aaron) of Fort Worth, Texas; his stepgrandsons, Gavin and Weston Romero; his brother Rudolph Barnett of Troup; and his sister-in-law Kathy Barnett of Oakwood, Texas..
