He is survived by: his wife Gloria Gonzales Ruiz; his son Johnny Ruiz (Teresa) of Mexia, Texas; his grandchildren, Haleigh Ruiz, John Caleb Ruiz of Roundrock, Reyna Ramirez, Marissa Hunt (Chandler) and Nathan Jones; his daughters, Courtney Boatright and Michelle Robinson (Ronnie) of Buffalo, Texas; his granddaughters, Kaila Bohannon (Rhett) of New Braunfels, Emily Grissett of Webster, Allison Grissett of Tucson and Alayna Grissett of Buffalo; his great grandchildren, Reid Charles Bohannon and Parker Sloan Bohannon; and his siblings, Josie Valdez (Dan) of Fort Worth, Teresa Guerra (Tony) of Slaton, Tony Ruiz (Maria) of Lubbock and Lupe Ruiz (Frances) of Slaton, Texas..
He advocated for Donate Life to encourage others to give the gift of life through organ donation.
