He was predeceased by: his father James Billy Smiley; and his stepfather Harry G. Ellis. He is survived by: his mother Jo M. Ellis (Williams) of Buffalo; his daughter Carol Dellynn Smiley Pope (Neal) of China Spring; his stepmother Elizabeth Smiley of Temple; his sister Teresa Wolfe (Smiley) of Georgetown; and his grandson Tyson Pope. He is also survived by niece and nephew, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Court Franklin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Baylor University.
