She was predeceased by: her parents, George Burton Vaughan Sr. and Elsie Ava Thompson Vaughan; and her brother George Burton Vaughan Jr.. She is survived by: her former spouse Air Force Lieutenant John H.; her husband John Hoyt; and her children, John Mark (Carol), Paul Burton (Laura), William Vaughan and Joy Lynn. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Her health began to decline after suffering Covid early in 2021.
In lieu of flowers the family wished a donation be made to Parkway Baptist Church.
