As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivy John Gibbens and Aurora Kathleen Robertson Gibbens; and his son John David Gibbens. He is survived by: his children, Cathy Lee Rice (Gibbens) and Kevin Michael Gibbens; his wife Carolyn; and his grandchildren, Zaine Rice, Isabelle Rice, Alexis Rice, Gabby Gibbens and Brazos Rice.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hillier Funeral Home & Cremations (2301 E 29th St, Bryan, TX 77802). A reception will be held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location.
