He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Womack Stafford, Sr. and Gladys Hunt Stafford Haught; his sister Lucille Bishop; and his nephew Don Bishop, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Geneva Muery Stafford; his children, Connie Kinerd (Carl), Paula Lemmus (Leo) and Dewey Stafford III; and his stepchildren, Douglas Fewell (Carol), Michael Fewell (Kathy), Jennifer Moree (Chip) and Dennis Fewell (Johnette). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
