She was predeceased by : her parents, Johnny Young and Rachel Young; and her sister Patricia (Author Gooden). She is survived by : her uncle Leon Williams; her aunts, Ammie Edwardes and Lessie Gulley; her nieces, Takeitha Gooden and Angela Walker; and her nephew Arthur Gooden, Jr.. She is also survived by four brothers; a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, June 18th 2024. Visitation was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Daniel & Son Funeral Home (401 W 18th St, Bryan, TX 77803). A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Wheelock Cemetery (1080 Farm to Market Rd 391, Hearne, TX 77859).
