He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Edward Pitts and Madolyn Velez. He is survived by: his sisters, Dr. Michele Johnson (Terry Johnson) of Abilene and Dr. Melinda Velez of Houston, Missouri.. He is also survived by two nephews, four great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
