She was predeceased by: her husband Roberto R. Benavides; and her sons, Jose Shears, Ricardo Benavides, Pantaleon Benavides and Pablo Benavides.
She is survived by: her children, Roberto Benavides Jr., Maria of Jesus, Jorge Benavides (Vicky) and Elvira Benavides. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Trevino Funeral Home (1955 Southmost Rd, Brownsville, TX 78521). A prayer was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 8:15 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens (4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526).
