He was predeceased by: his parents, Josefina Garcia and Guadalupe Montalvo. He is survived by: his wife Martha L. Montalvo; his children, Edgar Ivan Velasquez, Adriana Sanchez, Roberto Montalvo and Angeles Montalvo; and his siblings, Jose Santos Montalvo, Virginia Garcia, Jose Montalvo, Juanita Cervantes and Rosa Hernandez. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Garza Memorial Funeral Home (1025 E Jackson St, Brownsville, TX 78520). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens (4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526).
