He was predeceased by: his parents, Guadalupe S. Rodriguez and Florentina Castro Rodriguez; and his son Ruben "Chacho" Jose Rodriguez Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Ann Longoria Rodriguez; his daughters, Sofia Lorena Rodriguez and Rachel Renée Rodriguez; and his siblings, Maria, Rosario Lockaby, Erasmo Rodriguez (Belinda), Diana Morrison (Luis), Norma Castillo (Frank), Delia Mendoza (Fidencio), Oralia Hernandez, Sylvia Lopez (Ismael) and Domitila Vasquez (Silverio). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
