He was predeceased by: his parents, Baldomero Benavidez and Elena Benavidez; his former wife Maria; his siblings, Ruben Benavidez, Jesse "Chuy" Benavidez, Ramon Benavidez and Olivia Hernandez; and his brother-in-law Roman Muñoz.
He is survived by: his daughters, Claudia Ruiz (Gabriel) and Maria Magdalena Benavidez Lynch (Keenan); his wife Esther Pulido Garcia; his grandchildren, Joaquin Isaiah Ruiz, Julian Rey Ruiz, Nolan Phillip Lynch and Helena Danae Lynch; his siblings, Baldomero Benavidez (Esperanza), Graciela Cortez (Genaro), Rodolfo Benavidez (Francis), Arnulfo Benavidez (Isabel), Raquel Munoz and Ninfa Benavidez; and his sisters-in-law, Olivia and Gloria.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home (657 Springmart Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78526). A rosary was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Buena Vista Burial Park (5 Mc Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521).
