He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Guadalupe Gallegos and Maria Guadalupe Gallegos; and his sister Ofelia Pineda. He is survived by: his children, Guadalupe Zillinger (David), Consuelo De La Garza, Jose Gallegos Jr. (Maryann), Daniel Gallegos, Marina Gallegos and Dora Marisol Gallegos; his siblings, Gracy Soto (Ramiro), Olga Torres (Eugenio), Ramiro Gallegos (Blanca), Adela Granado (Leopoldo), Guadalupe Gallegos Jr. (Norma), Antonio Gallegos (Maria Elena), Dora Elia Fernandez (Efrain), Rolando Gallegos (Diana), Roberto Gallegos (Maria) and Rogelio Gallegos (Sadie); his grandchildren, Edward Villanueva, Derek Zillinger, Monica Zillinger, Erica De La Garza, Melissa De La Garza, Jessica De La Garza, Jose M. Gallegos III, Amanda Gallegos, Justin W. Gallegos, Jaclyn Gallegos, Fernando Padilla, Elexsys M. Lutgert, Enrique Lesende Jr., Daniel A. Ortiz III, Alexandera G. Ortiz, Amber Gallegos, Dillion Gallegos, Ariana Gallegos and Giselle Gallegos; and his great grandchildren, Mariana Cook, Maximiliano Cook, Cruz R. Gallegos, Mariah Gallegos and Fernando Gallegos.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Chapel of Peace (125 Mc Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521). A rosary was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens (4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526).
