Lucy J. Cortez Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 6, 2025, at the age of 76, Lucy J. Cortez in Brownsville, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucio Lopez Hinojosa and Gloria Garcia Lopez; and her siblings, Lisa Hinojosa and Alfredo Hinojosa. She is survived by: her husband Antonio M. Cortez; her children, Marco Antonio Cortez (Esmeralda), Amy Cortez and Jose Antonio Cortez (Aida); and her brothers, George Hinojosa, Roy Hinojosa and Louis Hinojosa. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 8:15 AM to 10:30 AM at the Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home (1400 77 BUS, San Benito, TX 78586). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the San Martin Cemetery. A burial was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 11:30 PM at the same location.
