He is survived by: his children, Enedelia Recio, Maria Juanita Recio, Dora A. Gutierrez (Andres), Lupita Cervantes (Marcelo Jr), Juan Gabriel Recio (Virginia) and Luis Alberto Recio (Susana); his grandchildren, Marissa Gutierrez, Evelyn Cervantes Cortez, Teresa Recio, Giselle Gutierrez, Abigail Recio, Elena Sanchez, Alberto Cervantes, Juan G. Recio Jr., Omar Cervantes, Diego A. Recio and Luis A. Recio Jr.; his great grandchildren, Noah Cortez and Scarlett Cervantes; his sisters, Margarita Zacarias and Rosa Quiroz; and his nieces, Maria Elena Baños, Belinda Campos and Esmeralda Quiroz.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Garza Memorial Funeral Home (1025 E Jackson St, Brownsville, TX 78520). A prayer was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens (4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526).
