With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Irene Botello Hernandez of Brownsville, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 11, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Irene Botello is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Irene Botello's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dionicio Botello and Ninfa Botello. She is survived by: her spouse Jaime Castañeda; and her children, Jaime Castañeda, Jorge Castañeda, Javier Castañeda, Cassandra Vinson, Vanessa Lamas, Don Castañeda and Crystal Olivarez. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home (657 Springmart Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78526). A Mass was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (555 W St Francis St, Brownsville, TX 78520).
