He is survived by: his wife Irene Zavala Rodriguez; his children, Sonia Benavides, Francisco Sergio Rodriguez, Jr. (Olga) and Martina Sanchez (Angel); his sister Graciela Snow (Hank); and his grandchildren, Carmen, Bianca, Raul, Eric and Miharu.

A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Darling-Mouser Funeral Home - East Chapel (945 Palm Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78520). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (1914 Barnard Rd, Brownsville, TX 78520). The military honors was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens (4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526).
