It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eloy Garcia Jr. of Brownsville, Texas, born in Mercedes, Texas, who passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eloy S. Garcia Sr. and Bertha Acosta; his siblings, Eben Leo Garcia and Sylvia Garcia; and his significant other Larry G. Johnson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Sonia Rodriguez (Joel), Gina Prehn (Mike) and Rene Garcia (Marilyn); his nieces, Gina, Tina, Sabrina Izaguirre, Meagan LaDuca, Missy Herold, Linda Garcia and Joleen Chapa; his great-nephews, Daryin Jones, Joseph Reyna and Sebastian Alaniz; and his great-niece Cassidy Reyna.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church (1055 Military Rd, Brownsville, TX 78520).
In lieu of flowers the family kindly ask for contributions to be made to ASPCA Foundation or Texas Paralyzed Veterans.
