She was predeceased by: her husband R. V. McElroy; her parents, Victor Starnes and Paralee Starnes; her daughter Susan Roberts; and her sister Alice Roberts.
She is survived by: her children, Don McElroy (Mayme) of Crosbyton, Mitchell McElroy (Shelly) of Portland, TX, Jeff McElroy (Mitzi) of Brownfield and Jeanie Richards (Royce) of Brownfield; and her sisters, Betty Fitzgerald of Clovis, NM and Mickey Pinkston of Brownfield. She is also survived by children including 20 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
