It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maxie McElroy (Brownfield, Texas), who passed away on November 15, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William McElroy and Gussie McElroy; his son Lynn McElroy; his grandson Brant McElroy; and his siblings, Sue Cabe and Donald McElroy.
He is survived by: his wife Nora Adell McElroy of Brownfield; his children, Tommy McElroy (Cindy) of Oklahoma, James McElroy (Sheila) of Pampa and Rena O'Brien (Ed) of Rowlett; and his grandchildren, Meagan McGee (Zach), Jaret McElroy (Selene), Reece McElroy (Megan), Lindsey Botello, Colby McElroy (Tearyn), Jason McElroy (Anastasia), Seth McElroy (Alyssa), Katiana McElroy, Hope McElroy, Brittany Bates (Lundy), Austin O'Brien and Tanner Patterson (Taylor). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brownfield Funeral Home (120 W Tate St, Brownfield, TX 79316). A burial was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Yoakum County Cemetery - Plains County. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Plains First Baptist Church (1400 TX-214, Plains, TX 79355).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to a favorite charity.
