He was predeceased by: his father Marcos Castro; his brother Alfonso Castro; and his brother-in-law Vicente Loe. He is survived by: his mother Nieves Salinas; his wife Rosa Maria Castro of Brownfield, Texas; his children, Veronica Lopez of San Antonio, Luis Lopez (Cynthia Nieto) of Plainview, Eduardo Manuel (Ana Lopez) and Tori (Mercado); and his siblings, Sebastian Castro of Clovis, Andres Castro of Lockney, Marcos (Leah Castro), Christina Loe of Bovina, Maria (Eusebio Ruiz), Francisco (Norma Castro), Esther (Timothy Dixon) and Lorenza (Armando Perez). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
