He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertis Alford and Jewel Erma Fields Cooper; his wife Martha Dunn Cooper; and his siblings, Dwan Alford Cooper, Don Cooper, Sr. and Jeneanne Letney.

He is survived by: his sister Suzie Bradshaw of Groves, Texas; his nieces and nephews, Don Cooper, Jr. of Farmington, Jerry Bradshaw (Debbie) of Conroe, Bobby Bradshaw (Cathy) of Conroe, Robin Bradshaw of Salina and John A. Letney of Jasper; and his siblings-in-law, Andy and Glenda Andres of Vidor, Texas..
