He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoyet Welch and Leona Williams Welch; his children, Jodie Welch, Jr. and Pat Bryan; his grandson Jesse Ray Welch; the mother of his children Willie Mae Welch; and his grandson Robert Dewayne Hanhart.
He is survived by: his children, Billy Ray Welch of Bronson, Jerry Welch of Bronson, Tommy Welch of Bronson, Herbert Welch of Bronson, Teresa "Bunky" Whiteside (James) of Longview and Frances Huffman (Jim) of Hemphill. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
