He is survived by: his children, Diana Silas of Bridgeport, Deborah Carpenter of Bridgeport and Jay Linnell of Florida; and his siblings, Earl Tharp of Boyd and Ruby Tharp of Texas. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
