He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Jacky Ray Carter of Alvord and Donna Jean Lawson of Decatur; his children, Jason Carter (Martin) of Tyler, James Benjamin Carter of El Paso, David Carter (Amie) of Decatur, Joshua Carter (Alexa) of Paradise, Alisha Carter Bertron (John Gibbon) of Decatur and Jaymee Carter–Deckard (Troy Deckard) of Sanger; and his grandchildren, LaShay Benevides, Ethan Redman, Averee Bertron and Oliver Deckard.
