He was predeceased by: his parents, Olan Pewitt and Muriel Pewitt (McKown); his stepfather John Robinson; his brother-in-law Vernon Sneed (Edna); his brother Olan Pewitt (Eunice); and his sisters-in-law, Gladys and Yvonne Pewitt.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Pewitt (Sneed); his children, Steven Pewitt (Robyn), Tonja Brown (Eric) and Laura French (Bill); his siblings, Jimmy, Jerry, Paul, Earnie Pewitt, Kathy Pelham, Mary Archer and La Juana Gibbs; and his grandchildren, Kalyb, Zane Brown, Piper, River French, Michael, Nicole Patterson, Katie Pewitt, Hannah, Jake Stewart and Bailey French.
