He was predeceased by: his parents, Connor Shepherd and Versie Shepherd (Burleson); his brothers, Billy Shepherd and Morris; his brother-in-law Terry Bland; his parents-in-law, John B Elkins and Ella Elkins; his sisters-in-law, Sharon Dubose and Betty Richard (JD Richard); and his son Gary Shepherd (Stephanie).
He is survived by: his wife Norma Elkins Shepherd; his daughter Jodi Morphew (Britt); his grandchildren, Lexi Preston (Shane), Allison Morphew, Samantha Morphew, Sydney Major (Jacob) and Jake Shepherd; his great grandchildren, Harper, Addalyn, Eve Preston, Luke, Leo and Amelia Major; his sisters, Carolyn Bland (Sissy) and Sue Shay (F. D.); and his brother-in-law Wayne Dubose.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking to give donations to the Esther Sunday School class at Winfree Baptist Church in Orange, to help with the funding for programs for the needy or to the BCOF Ministerial Alliance.
