He was predeceased by: his mother Gladys Maye Whitmore Zeiss; his grandfather Isaac Whitmore; his father William "Billy" Zeiss; his parents-in-law, Joe and Tracy Schmid; his brother William E.; his siblings-in-law, Patsy Zeiss, Wilfred Kuecker, Tanya Golibart McClendon, Bill Golibart and Rozaine Weiss; his daughter-in-law Catherine Moran Zeiss; and his close friend Marice Wills.
He is survived by: his daughter Jomaye Zeiss Schmidt; his wife Joan Schmid Zeiss; his children-in-law, Eddie Schmidt and Betsy Zeiss; his sister Barbara Kuecker; his grandchildren, Blair Schmidt, Brenna and Russ McKinley; and his great grandchildren, Destiny, Rusty, Bella McKinley, Saeger Jaster, Isaac, Everleigh Matthies, Delton and Auggie Campbell.
