He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Meadows Coston; his son John Melvin Coston; and his grandchildren, Eli Ryder Coston, Lauren Michelle Coston, Emory John Coston, Emily Dawn Coston, John Eric Coston and Lena Jean Coston.
