He was predeceased by: his parents, David Rice and Ethel Rice; his daughter Jessie Rice; and his siblings, Jimmy, Richard Rice, Nancy Carvin and Nettie Mikeska.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Rice; his daughters, Joanna Rice and Jeana Bartkowiak; his granddaughters, Tori of Brenham, Taylor of Brenham and Erin of Brenham; and his sisters, Lisa Timmons of Ohio and Nita (Henry Taylor) of Bryan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
