Elo Mertz Obituary

We are sad to announce that on July 16, 2022, at the age of 91, Elo Mertz (Brenham, Texas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Edna Ullrich Mertz; his son David Mertz; and his sister Hilma Hetzel (Clinton). He is survived by: his wife Vernell Mertz of Brenham, TX; his children, Welton Mertz of Brenham, TX, Glenn Mertz of Brenham, TX, Darrell Mertz of Brenham, TX, Mark Mertz (Theresa) of Somerville, TX, Jimmie Mertz (Sue) of League City, TX, Karen Dittfurth (Steve) of Bryan, TX, Melissa Baginski (Michael) of San Marcos, TX and Lorette Mertz of Brenham, TX; his brothers, Reimund Mertz of Giddings, TX and Claude Mertz of Giddings, TX; his nephews, Kenneth Hetzel and Gary Mertz; and his niece Audrey Sternadle. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
